How to sign up from a client email invitation?
- If you receive an invitation from a client to be an accountant in their QuickBooks Online Company, you find an invitation link that you can follow to sign up for a QB Online Accountant account. Accept the invitation and you will be able to sign up for QuickBooks Online Accountant.
- In case you receive an error in the process of accepting the invitation, you can do the following.
- Open invitation in “Private mode“.
- Clear “Cache” and “Recreate the invitation“.
How to open a private browsing window?
You can use private browsing windows, also called incognito mode, to avoid damaged cookies, temp files, browser Add-ons, and other factors that may stop you from signing up for QuickBooks Online.
Google Chrome
Here is how you can open a private browsing window (incognito window) in Google Chrome:
- Hold the “Ctrl + Shift + N” keys to open the Incognito Window.
- Open QB Online accountant user email invitation.
- Find the “Invitation email” and right-click on the “Accept Invitation” link.
- Select “Copy Link Address“.
- Paste (by right-clicking or ctrl+v) the copied shortcut into the address bar.
- Hit “Enter” and you will be redirected to the login screen for QuickBooks Online Accountant.
- Log into “QuickBooks Online Accountant“.
Firefox
- Click on the “Firefox” icon on the desktop to open a webpage.
- Press the “Ctrl + Shift + P” keys on the keyboard to open “Private Browsing“.
- Open QB Online accountant user “Email invitation“.
- Find the “Invitation email” and right-click on the “Accept Invitation link“.
- Select “Copy Link Address“.
- Paste the copied shortcut into the address bar in another or the same private browsing window.
- Hit “Enter” and you will be redirected to the login screen for QuickBooks Online Accountant.
- Log into QuickBooks Online Accountant.
How to Clear caches, cookies, and temp files?
If you are a client/owner/admin
- Use your “Master Administrator/Owner credentials” to log into QuickBooks Online.
- Select “Company tab” and then “Manage Users“.
- Select “Accountants” and find the accountant user’s name.
- Go to the “Action” column and select “Delete” from the drop-down menu.
- Go to the “Manage Users” section and delete any other occurrence of the accountant user’s email.
- Choose “Invite Accountant“.
- Add the “Email address” and name of the Accountant (this step is optional), and select “Send the invitation“.
- Log out of QuickBooks Online.
If you are an accountant
- Delete the “Temporary Internet files” in the browser.
- Close all “Web browsers“.
- Open the “Email invitation” you received from the client.
- Click “Accept invitation” in the email.
- Provide your “User ID/Email Address” and “Password“.
- Select the “Sign In” option.
You should now be able to accept the invitation.
How to sign up in case you have an Intuit login or you are a ProAdvisor?
A QuickBooks Online Accountant firm can be created under the same login you already use:
- Go to the “Signup page” and select “Sign In“.
- A login screen will appear where you’ll have to enter your “Username and Password“.
- In case you are a ProAdvisor, you can use your existing ProAdvisor login credentials.
- Click on “Continue“.
How to sign up in case you don’t have an Intuit login?
You can create a QuickBooks Online login while signing up for QB Online Accountant. Here is how you can do that:
- Enter your “Email address, first name, last name, phone number, and password” for your account in the corresponding fields on the sign-up form.
- Your email will be used as your new “User ID” and you can use it to sign in to your new QuickBooks Online Accountant account.
- Click on “Continue” to make your QuickBooks Online Accountant firm.
